[WTS] Moving out sale part 3 - Vintage Sheaffers and flexy Pelikans, and many many other discounted pens PRICED TO GO

($15 - $250)

I'm a grad student and I need to be moving out of my dorm soon, looking to make a few bucks to help finance part of the move. Selling many vintage, completely unused or lightly used pens. All pens need to go so prices are OBO. Very happy to negotiate prices, especially if you buy two or more pens, or trade if you have some pen that I might like instead.

Shipping withing CONUS is $7, international shipping at buyer's cost. Please follow all rules of the sub.

Vintage Sheaffers

Please note that the Targas mostly come with Fine or Medium nibs but I can swap in 1 Broad nib unit at buyer's request. Also, if you see a pen body you like but don't like the nib (too wet, too dry, etc.) I'm happy to swap nib units around with some of my own Targas. For Sheaffer pens that do not have a converter, I can add in a brand new Sheaffer Converter for $10. Info about Targa versions can be found here: https://www.sheaffertarga.com/technical%20info/versions%20of%20targa.html

  1. [NOS/Mint A1] Sheaffer Targa Version 1, 1005 Heavy Gold Electroplated FP+Ballpoint set with original box/papers: First off, one of the stars of today's show, this is a mint, never used Targa 1005 Heavy Gold Electroplated set, with the original box and papers. The original version was a combination of a Ballpoint and a Tekton rollerball, but I replaced the section with an NOS fountain pen section from eBay (since Tekton refills are not available any more). Pens are both in literally brand new condition, no marks or tarnishing anywhere (any marks you see on pics are finger smudges only). I'm happy to include the old Tekton section as well if you'd like. Since the nib unit is separately bought, the condition rating should technically be a D, but otherwise it's literally a mint set. Asking $150. 2. [B+] Targa Version 3, 1003 Matte Black <14k Bouncyyy Medium>: This is arguable the single best-looking Targa colorway in my opinion. This pen looks like it's brand-new, for all intents and purposes, save for a st of scratches under the clip (pls see pics). The clap and finial are both in remarkable condition (any marks on them that you see on the pics are finger smudges which I will wipe off before shipping), and its nib is an ultra-responsive 14k Medium. Asking $95. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/targa-matte-black-14k-m-7Af9Oz1
  3. [D/C+] Sheaffer Desk Pen Set (2x 14k Bouncy F/M nibs): Next up is a beautiful vintage desk pen set by Sheaffer. One of the pens in the set is a lever filler from the 50s, with a recently restored sac, and has a bouncy Sheaffer Lifetime nib. The other is a cartridge/converter Imperial Desk pen from the 70s?? (this is not the original pen that the set came with, but this is simply how I found it) Both of them are truly excellent writers. The desk block itself is a gorgeous piece, with one small but not very noticeable crack on one of the edges (pls see pics). Rated D for age/pen swap, but the actual condition rating would probably be a C+. The nibs will receive a slight buffing before they are shipped out. Asking $85, which is a bargain considering that I paid to have the lever filler restored. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/sheaffer-desk-set-zegGlFz
  4. [B-] Sheaffer Targa Version 1, 1028 Laque Grey Ronce <14k Bouncy Wet Medium>: Next up is a lovely Targa 1028 with a beautiful bouncy, wet M nib. The pen puts down oodles of ink compared to other Targas, which I love. The rating is a B- because of slight wear to the laque around the place where the cap and barrel meet (pls see pics/video) but otherwise the pen is in near-mint condition. As mentioned I can swap the nib unit out with a slightly dryer one, or a broad nib if needed. Asking $75. Imgur: http://imgur.com/a/sheaffer-targa-laque-ronce-m-Re4CpSm
  5. [Unused/Mint] Targa Version 1, 1003 Imperial Brass <14k Bouncy Medium>: This is an extremely well-preserved Targa 1003, with the Imperial Brass logo surviving in MUCH better condition than other pens of this variety. The Brass does have slight spots of tarnishing (pls see video) that can easily be polished off with a Jeweler's polishing cloth, since brass is very easy to maintain. Comes with a typical bouncy and responsive Targa 14k M nib, with just the right amount of feedback. As mentioned above, nib swaps are possible upon request. Includes a Sheaffer Aerometric Converter. Asking $110. Imgur: http://imgur.com/a/imperial-brass-sheaffer-targa-m-qSwwXDJ
  6. [B/Mint] Targa Version 6, Slimline 1003S Matte Black <14k Medium/Fine>: Love the look of the Targa's inlaid nib but prefer something a little thinner and lighter? Well, Sheaffer has the answer for you! Here is an exquisitely preserved Targa Slimline in their iconic matte black and gold colorway, with a super-smooth 14k Medium nib (which writes a little closer to a Western Fine in my opinion). The pen was used only a handful of times before being securely stored in a pen-case for ages. There is slight tarnishing on the clip, hence the B rating, but it can easily be removed with some polishing cloth. Asking $80. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/targa-slim-14k-m-tpsw79k

Other Vintage/Older Gold nibs

  1. [B-] RARE!!! Pelikan M400 Translucent Green with W. Germany imprint <flexy 14k TWO CHICKS F nib>: This is an amazing M400 model, with a translucent green barrel, the highly sought-after W.Germany imprint on the cap band, and two chicks on both the nib and the finial. The nib is a surprisingly flexy 14k F nib (writing sample available on request). The pen itself seems to be in amazing condition, and the piston is working perfectly, although you could probably add a little silicone grease to lube it up if you'd like. Asking $210. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/pelikan-m400-w-germany-flexy-f-N1v5lAE

  2. [A2] Waterman Carene Black Sea with Gold Trim <18k M nib>: Next up is a Carene in the Black Sea colorway with gold trim. It's a pretty standard Carene model, with no visual flaws as far as I can tell, and a lovely, bouncy Medium nib that is typical of the Carene. Asking $175. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/waterman-carene-black-sea-18k-medium-t1viQDh

  3. [B2] Waterman Carene Deluxe Blue <18k M nib>: Next up is a Carene in a discontinued colorway, the Deluxe Blue, with a gold trim. The cap is made of Sterling Silver, although it seems to have some tiny spots of discoloration/corrosion (please see video) which made me give it a B2 rating, but since it's Sterling Silver they can easily be removed with a jeweler's polishing cloth. The rest of the pen is in A2 condition, along with a lovely, bouncy Medium nib that is typical of the Carene. Asking $250. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/waterman-carene-deluxe-blue-18k-medium-0Zfrinl

  4. [D/B-] Pilot Custom 67/74 Frankenpen <14k M nib>: This is a Frankenpen with the body of a Pilot Custom 67, but the nib section from a burgundy Pilot Custom 74, with an M nib, date code A693. It writes amazingly well, and the only reason I'm selling it is because I have upgraded to a Custom 742, since it's better suited to my fat fingers. The body has microscratches consistent with wear but is otherwise in very good condition. Asking $75. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/pilot-custom-67-frankenpen-m-JhK1S0O

Steel Nibs

  1. [B] Waterman Phileas Blue with original box <SS Medium nib>: Next up is the Waterman Phileas, in the blue colorway. For those of you who haven't used one, the Phileas is one of my contenders for the best steel nib out there under $100. I already have one, and I keep my own Phileas always inked, and it's one of the favorite pens in my collection. This model is immaculately preserved and looks to have never been used. However, there is some corrosion along the base of the nib (see pics), which is why I've given it a B rating, but the rest of the pen is an A2++. Pen comes with its original box, converter, and one optional new cartridge of Waterman Serenity Blue upon request. Asking $65. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/waterman-phileas-blue-with-box-a0VaA7v

  2. [A1] Waterman Graduate Allure Matte Black <SS Fine nib>: Next up, we have a Waterman Graduate Allure in the Matte Black colorway. This is an excellent and reliable starter pen, which does not seem to get the love it deserves in the FP community. This was kept in a pen case for a while and never used. Asking $15, but it is free if you buy any two other pens in this list. Imgur: https://imgur.com/a/waterman-graduate-allure-f-UndQqyI

  3. SOLD [A2+] Faber-Castell Hexo <SS F nib>: The Hexo is an amazing pen, designed to be an absolute workhorse, with a lovely metal body and a comfortable triangular ergonomic grip. The nib is just as lovely as you'd expect any FC steel nib to be, with just a hint of bounciness, and is the same nib used by its sibling, the FC Grip. Used once with the included cartridge. Asking $25 (the pen sells for $45 on Amazon). Can include a converter for $5, and can include a free cartridge of Waterman Serenity Blue on request.
