[WTS] Mechanical Pencils: Rare In Box Duofold "Big Bro" Pencil, Parker 75 Barleycorn, Mabie Todd "Long Short" Stylo,
($80 - $235)
Hi Everyone! I'm selling a few exciting mechanical pencils that have fallen into my hands as part of lots when purchasing fountain pens. I'm selling them since I don't intend to collect mechanical pencils. (I have trusty Dr. Grip) Here are photos: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1bueQbHMJ_yxggzLwaAJAff0rjUbfWcl9?usp=sharing Apologies for the poor quality, can take more on request!
I will ship within the US at cost, between $5-10. Please let me know if I have priced any of these unfairly, I don't know much about vintage mechanical pencils.
Parker 75 Barleycorn ($105): This beautiful mechanical pencil has France inscribed in the center ring. Tarnish is not apparent at first glance, but if you inspect it very careful, there are a few spots where the light doesn't fall evenly. Condition is a B due to vintage. Also the eraser is used, which I've heard decreases the value.
Mabie Todd "Long Short Stylo" ($80): This mechanical pencil is very small when capped, but opens up to be normal size when posted. The gold wire inside seems to be intact, and the BHCR is in good condition. It's a very dark, black, a mix of matte and shiny. According to vintagepens, this type of pen dates to around 1920. Condition C.
Parker Duofold "Big Bro" Mechanical Pencil ($235 or best offer): I have never seen a mechanical pencil this old in boxed condition like this with the original tape and papers. The original box has been taped at the ends, but is otherwise in beautiful condition. The pen body is shiny with no scratches. The lead inside seems to be the original and it seems to be in working condition. Unfortunately, there is some degradation in the cap (as pictured). I honestly just want to keep the paper so that I can frame it. According to Peytonstreetpens, this dates to the 1930s. Condition B due to vintage.
Thank you!
