The most traditional color of urushi, “Shu(vermilion)” is used and it shines beautifully and brilliantly.
Vermilion is a slightly yellowish red color that is said to a symbol of an amulet or eternal youth and long life, and has been used in palaces, shrines and temples since ancient times as a traditional color in China and Japan.

The color is created with a cinnabar (also known as red mercury sulfide) as a raw material, which is a red clay powder containing sulfur and mercury.

The body is in great condition, near perfect really. The clip too. Only the nib shows signs of age as 14k gold changes color with time if not polished. The elastic nib option is a $150 upcharge from Nakaya. Retail is $840, they charge $30 shipping $11 for the converter, and there's now a tariff on all imports plus sales tax and the 9-12 month waiting period.

Roiro is one of the color names for black, and means the deep and beautiful wet like black color of a black lacquer.

Comes with a 14k silver tone bold nib. Condition rated as b1 or excellent to very good. Don't see much if any noticeable wear. Box does not have ink.

Visconti Homo Sapiens Bronze Age 18k Bold Nib [B] - $649

Bronze shows signs of aging, but that's about the only wear that I can notice. The nib writes extremely beautifully. Very smooth and slightly flexible. A real joy to write with. It is heavy though and that's why I'm going to let it go to the next caretaker. Not sure what else to write about it as it's a great pen and you can buy this knowing that the nib is one of the good ones. It writes fine.

Also, I do believe it's of the older make where more lava is used. Box included.
