Vintage Sheaffer Junior Balance - Black/Pearl Gray - 14K <ef> $156 [same price as when I purchased + shipping] PENDING

Sheaffer Balance Junior (Grey Pearl, celluloid, NPT, lever filler, 14k XF Semi-Flex nib). This short model measures 4 13/16” capped and 5 5/8” posted. This is an example in Grey Pearl marble celluloid with nickel-plated trim. Made for only a couple years, Grey Pearl marble vies with Rose Glow as the scarcest Balance color. It was especially tough to find an undiscolored example like this one with no greening to its grey hues. Semi-Flex 14k Sheaffer Jr. nib lays down a smooth and consistent XF line that widens to a B/2B (approx 1.0mm) under moderate pressure (see WRITING SAMPLE). Softness enhances smoothness under normal pressure and provides a bit of shading when needed with reliable flow over its full range of flex. Condition: near mint [B+]. Nickel-plated trim is virtually pristine with no brassing or other notable flaws. Celluloid surface has a smooth lustrous finish with no deep scratches or other noteworthy blemishes – scarcely even any microscratches. Ink view window is a light orange color. Manufacturer imprint on barrel is factory deep and fully legible.
