[WTS][US50] Restored Waterman 52, BHR, Full Flex nib!
Hey all,
Another great pen up for grabs here. This is a Waterman 52 BHR. The BHR stands for "black hard rubber". Usually you see this referenced for the chasing pattern but this model has a smooth body and cap. The pen has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and restored. Originally the pen was oxidized to a light brown but I was able to restore the color. Its not perfect but you can't expect that when the rubber has oxidized. The nib is very wet and very flexible. The writing sample was made using Waterman's Inspired Blue ink and is in the verification photos. Here are more details on the pen:
Verification and Pics (pen is at the bottom of the album, other pens are for sale too!)
- Waterman 52 BHR
- Type: vintage lever filler fountain pen
- Manufacturer and Year: Waterman USA, 1920's
- Length: 5-3/8" Filling System: lever filler, new ink sac, works well
- Color: Black Hard Rubber, non-textured smooth
- Nib: 14k Fine nib, Full Flex, wet writer
- Condition: Good - This pen is holding up well for a pen being about 100 hears old. The cap is free of cracks, with only small scratches. The clip is intact but has some pitting. The body and section are in good shape with no cracks just small wear marks. The cap and body have Waterman Imprints with the one on the cap being easily readable and the body imprint being pretty worn. The imprint of "52" on the end of the barrel is crisp and still has its factory red color. Everything functions great and this is a great example of a Waterman 52 with no thrills.
- Grade: D - Vintage, new ink sac
- Price: $150 shipped OBO
Thanks for looking and have a great day!
