For sale is this vintage Salvecchio Italy Explorer automatic watch.

The styling is classic with most, if not all of its inspiration from the famous Rolex Explorer, meaning you can't really go wrong using it as a do anything, go anywhere watch. Many homages of the Explorer end up looking a bit strange or with the wrong proportions but this one seems to get it right. You don't see many watch brands hailing from Italy so this is quite the rarity. I like the gothic font for the spell-out logo and the applied crown logo on the dial adds detail. The crown logo is echoed on clasp, the case back and the crown is also signed with it too, which you don't even see Seiko do these days. Classic easy-to-read dial and Mercedes handset. The case back has a lot of nice design detail too where a lot of watch brands don't seem to bother with.

The movement is the ever-reliable automatic Miyota (Citizen) calibre 8205 in gold - a very pleasant surprise and nice to know that it's under the hood. Running on-time and date function also working as it should.

States a 200m water resistance, helped by the screw-down crown.

I think this watch, unlike many Explorer homages, gives you a lot of value and doesn't really seem to cheap out anywhere.
All-stainless steel construction, solid links, signed screw-down crown, reliable Japanese movement (and in gold!), drilled lugs, nice details etc.
