For sale: Pilot Elabo, cartridge/converter, with 14 soft medium <SM> and black resin body.

The Pilot Elabo (western name Falcon) is a flat-top pen that features rhodium trim [NB, older models have gold-colored trim, not rhodium] and Pilot’s beak-shaped semi-flexible soft nibs. While usually not billed as “flex” nibs, these nibs are quite soft and do allow the writer to, with gentle pressure, achieve a small and not insignificant amount of line variation.

This is an older model, with nib code B297, dating it to February of 1997, and it has the gold-colored hardware. There are small scratches on the body commensurate with the pen’s age, and they are not noticeable under casual inspection. The clip and hardware are in good condition, with no brassing. As for grade, it’s on the lower side of a B, but better than B-.

The nib is soft and wet, with a generous flow and noticeable bounce. It may not be your cup of tea, but I find it to be a joy to write with. See the closeup in the writing samples to see line variation and shading.

The pen will ship with a Pilot ink cartridge.

Asking for $100.00 shipped to CONUS. Shipping outside the US is possible, but buyer pays for it. If you follow my posts, I often lower prices after a week or two. I probably won’t with this one, as I’d be happy to just keep it. All sub rules apply. Please comment publicly first.
