I am a vintage pen restorer that works exclusively with hard rubber Waterman pens from the 1890's to 1930. I have restored over 200 Waterman pens from this period and guarantee they are restored both functionally and cosmetically to the best of my ability. All restorations are done with extreme care using only top of the line products and professional techniques. As a bit of a blanket statement, all of the following pens are professionally restored by me, all are ready to write, fully functional, and have no notable flaws or issues. I often sell on eBay but a friend recommended I try listing some pens here as there may be some who are interested in vintage flex pens. eBay auctions can be intimidating and often reach hundreds or upwards of a thousand dollars for pens of this nature. To be transparent, I sell 1 pen a week on eBay, with about 25 in queue, I have a trip coming up that I would like to have some extra cash for so I thought I'd give this subreddit a chance to try to sell these pens a bit faster. Some of the pens presented here have seriously flexible nibs. I will do my best to describe the pens here, you can always message me for further photos or details. I also welcome questions from those getting their first vintage pen or vintage flex pen, this can leave a lot of questions for a buyer, feel free to reach out. 1. Waterman 52 1/2 Black Chased Hard Rubber (Circa 1915), WET NOODLE Flex Nib - $300

Condition: B

Nib: 14k Waterman #2 XXF-2.2mm WET NOODLE Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is dark black, no oxidation. Trim is clean, no brassing. No nicks to trim. Imprints and chasing are legible and present. Overall condition is excellent. This nib is a gem, it writes extra extra fine providing great hairlines and with light pressure opens up to over 2mm, this is massive line variability. Perfect for calligraphic or artistic applications. If you're looking for THE wet noodle pen for your collection, this is all you need right here. 2. Waterman 52 1/2 Black Chased Hard Rubber (Circa 1915), WET NOODLE Flex Nib - $275

Nib: 14k Waterman #2 XXF-2mm+ WET NOODLE Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is dark black, no oxidation. Trim is clean, no brassing. No nicks to trim. Imprints and chasing are present but more worn than the other 52 1/2 (hence lower price). Overall condition is great. This nib is excellent. Writes extra extra fine hairline and flexes to over 2mm with light pressure. Perfect for calligraphic or artistic applications. Please note this nib is very soft and requires a light hand if used for regular writing. Another amazingly soft and flexible nib.

3. Rare Waterman 13 Black Hard Rubber (Circa 1910), WET NOODLE Flex Nib - $350

Nib: Rare 14k Waterman #3 XXF-2.2mm WET NOODLE Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is dark black, no oxidation. No trim. Imprints and chasing are present, lightly worn. Overall condition is great. For some reason this pen has a chased cap and smooth barrel, possible it is original, possible it is a replacement cap, unsure. This nib is the softest and most flexible of the lot. It writes extra extra fine and opens up to over 2mm with subtle light pressure. This nib is super soft. Perfect for calligraphic or artistic applications. The size 3 nibs and size 3 Waterman pens are very very rare and hard to come by.

4. Waterman 54 Black Hard Rubber (Circa 1915), Flex Nib - $360

Nib: 14k Waterman #4 XXXF-1.5mm Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is dark black, no oxidation. Trim is clean, no brassing, or nicks. Imprints are present with light wear. Overall condition is excellent. Nib writes extremely fine, extra extra extra fine. Opens up to 1.5mm with moderate pressure. Great nib for spencerian or artistic application.

5. Waterman 12 Black Hard Rubber (Circa 1905), Rare Star Flex Nib - $250

Nib: Rare 14k Waterman #2 Star Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is dark black, no oxidation. No trim. Imprints are present with moderate wear. Overall condition is great. Nib writes super fine. This nib has average flex requiring moderate pressure.

6. Near Mint Waterman 12S Black Chased Hard Rubber (Circa 1910), Super Flex Nib, In Box - $295

Condition: B+ (Near mint vintage)

Nib: 14k Waterman #2 Super flex nib

Description: This pen is the best condition of the lot. Near mint with the box. No instruction papers. Rubber is dark black and shiny, zero oxidation. Trim is clean, free of nicks or damage. Imprints and chasing are present with light "drawer wear". Overall condition is amazing. Nib writes extra fine. Super flexible, flexing over 1.6mm with moderate-light pressure. Excellent pen.

7. Waterman 52 Red Ripple (Circa 1920), Flex Nib - $280

Condition: C

Nib: 14k Waterman #2 Flex Nib

Description: No notable damages or flaws. Rubber is clean and vibrant, no oxidation. Trim is shiny and clean, no damage, clip has a small spot of brassing to the left of the rivets. Imprints are worn but visible. Nib is an extra fine with decent flex. Flexes to 1.3mm with moderate-light pressure. Great flex pen.
