1. Wahl Eversharp Gold Seal Pen Lazulitic Blue Set
Asking: 💰 SOLD $695 OBO (or best offer)
Grade: 🥇 B minty vintage
Gallery: (click twice to zoom in)
An absolute gem that I would just keep in my collection if not sold because it outperforms (3.10-3.20mm) my wet noodle Waterman 55 with a custom burnished nib (3.01mm) in tine spread for and snaps back instantly to a hairline (0.20) XXF to BBBBb. Thought I could just dip the nib to finish the testing but had to fill some ink or it would constantly run dry since it didn't railroad whatsoever even when going crazy with the flex. Absolutely mint color and besides micro-scratches it's def a grail in a collection. Comes with original box with matching pencil set (and original pencil too because the celluloid is perfectly matched in color and hue). "made in usa" imprint is so beautiful and harkens back to the golden age of fountain pens.
2. Wahl Eversharp Signature Pen Lazulitic Blue Paris
Asking: 💰 $595 OBO (or best offer)
Grade: 🥇 C good vintage restoration
Gallery: (click twice to zoom in)
A smidge shorter than the Gold Seal pen, this Paris edition of the Signature pen by Wahl is a feast for the eyes, and your hands. There is slightly more celluloid oxidization of the pen barrel than the cap, but my oh my, the nib on this is unholy. Going from 0.1mm to 3.00mm easily and up to tested max of 3.14mm. This means it's wispppyyyyy, and makes incredible variation for spencerian script and flourishing super fine details then immediately to huge broad strokes. another incredibly minty "made in usa" imprint.
3. Mabie Todd Swan SF2 BHR (broken clip)
Asking: 💰 $255 OBO (or best offer) SOLD
Grade: 🥇 D broken clip, C for pen's ebonite
Gallery: (click twice to zoom in)
Insane flex nib, just missing the clip, i'll include an aftermarket clip you can slip on if you need. Easily spreads from F to BBBB over 2.85mm with incredible snap and is somehow so dam smooth. Great imprints on the barrel, but quite a few microscratches that aren't really visible since the color is a deep black ebonite.
4. Parker Lucky Curve Petit Pastel Ring Top Mauve
Asking: 💰 $170 OBO (or best offer)
Grade: 🥇 B minty vintage, celluloid coloration dulled but uniform
Gallery: (click twice to zoom in)
Beautiful ring top from parker with incredibly minty permanite (Parker's revolutionary celluloid material manufactured by DuPont), has some color loss due to oxidization over the years but is so uniform you wouldn't be able to tell until you open the cap, and even then it's still a minor and subtle hue change. It's not a true flex nib, but it's got some really good line variation and snap back for this nib style going from F to BB. Really good writer and solid push-button filling mechanism means it's pretty resistant to leaking ink. (tip when filling it up, you gotta pump the button a few time in ink bottle to get every last bit filled).
5. Wahl Pen #0 Ring Top Gold-Filled Colonial
Asking: 💰 $200 OBO (or best offer)
Grade: 🥇 C some scratches, little bit of brassing on cap and butt, great imprints
Gallery: (click twice to zoom in)
Pocket rocket galore, at only 8.1cm (3.2in), it spreads to BBB (2.10mm) from hairline and makes for incredible spencerian script calligraphy on the go. Slips into a Roterfaden or hobonichi cover super easily and the engraved colonial decor adds a great amount of grip. A little bit of brassing but it's pretty immaculate for the age and overlay (since they get dinged up so badly). The snapback is good, not great because it's so small with hella long tines, so will not be good to continuously flex in one stroke, but multiple smaller spreads will be perfectly accommodated.
=========================================
Letting go of some restorations I've done over the past month and they are absolutely incredible writers with unholy flex on a few of them. Conditions and details available on their spec sheet in respective gallery. Happy to answer questions or provide additional pictures. Nibs are selected from my assorted inventory I've amassed for a little bit, and outfitted with the best performing ones.
All pens have their ebonite feeds heat set and nibs tuned, ebonite polished/ celluloid cleaned, ink sacs freshly talc'd. All pens in this group will be using freshly minted latex sacs with fresh shellac.
⚠️ A word of caution, celluloid is crazy flammable so just be careful if you play with fire like one normally does.
📦 Storage tips: Keep things dark and dry, I've added silica gel beads with all these pens, the silica is not ideal but humidity will kill your pen in days not years. Airflow is essential for ebonite and celluloid, so air out your drawers and trays every month or so or more if you remember.
Really excited to share vintage pens with everyone and also happy to take requests for restoration work or simple ink bladder/sac replacements if I have time after work (just pay 2-way shipping +$5 for the ink sac).
