For sale: Pilot Short SB100-SS, cartridge/converter, with 14k fine nib <F> and “alumite” and black body.

All of the “Big Three” Japanese pen companies, Pilot, Sailor, and Platinum, as well as many smaller companies went wild for pocket pens in the 1960s. For a wonderful and extensive article about them, see this post by Richard Binder:http://www.richardspens.com/ref/profiles/pocket_pens.htm

The Pilot Short SB100-SS was the lowest end of the series that included the “telescopic” short pens, and it has the same nib. The body and cap are a coated aluminum (so called “alumite”) of a beige color. According to Richard Binder’s page linked above, they are less common these days.

This pen has noticeable body scratching and a fairly long engraving on the section, earning it a (C-/D) grade. The body code of IG17 dates it to July 17, 1968. It posts and caps quite pleasantly, and the writing is typical of the “small triangle” nibs: good but not overly wet flow, with some feedback.

The pen will ship with a Pilot ink cartridge.

Asking for $40.00 shipped to CONUS. Shipping outside the US is possible, but buyer pays for it. All sub rules apply. Please comment publicly first.
